If you're on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound or another GLP‑1, you cannot afford to lose muscle while you lose weight.
GLP‑1 medications can be powerful tools for lowering blood sugar and supporting weight loss in people with type 2 diabetes or obesity. But like any fast weight‑loss tool, they can cause you to lose not just fat, but also lean muscle if you are not training and eating strategically.
Losing muscle makes it harder to keep the weight off long‑term, can slow your metabolism, and can leave you feeling weaker and more tired even as the scale goes down. The fix is not "more cardio" or "eating as little as possible" – it's smart, progressive strength training plus enough protein.
If you are using a GLP‑1 and want to protect (or build) muscle, my coaching focuses on three pillars:
Prioritizing 2–4 days per week of strength work using big compound movements that train your whole body efficiently.
Structuring meals so your total protein intake supports muscle retention while still fitting within your appetite and medication side‑effects.
Sleep, stress and daily movement so you are not just smaller, but stronger, more energetic, and better set up for life after the medication.
This is not a "bodybuilding plan" and you do not need to live in the gym. You need the right moves, the right progression, and someone who understands how GLP‑1s actually feel in real life.
Always talk to your prescribing clinician before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have diabetes, cardiovascular disease, joint issues, or other medical conditions.

If you feel dizzy, light‑headed, have chest pain, or feel "off," stop and seek medical attention.
GLP‑1 medications are tools, not magic fixes. What you do with your nutrition, movement, and daily habits will determine whether this is a short‑term weight drop or a long‑term health upgrade.
If you are on a GLP‑1 and you want to:
…then my coaching was built for you.
